The Hatch PTO needs your help. We organize many events throughout the school year and we need volunteers to make that happen. Volunteering with us is a great way to get involved at Hatch and contribute to the Hatch community at large. Open board and committee chair positions are listed below. Board Positions

Co-VPs of Green Team

Serve on the PTO executive board to oversee and support the Green Team environmental education program. Partner with the Green Team chair to ensure students receive monthly opportunities to engage in eco-friendly activities, coordinate sustainability initiatives like textile and shoe drives, and promote environmental consciousness throughout the school community.

VP of Volunteers

Serve on the executive board to recruit, coordinate, and manage all PTO volunteers across various committees and events. Develop volunteer opportunities, maintain volunteer databases, ensure adequate coverage for school activities, and create a welcoming environment that encourages parent participation throughout the year.

VP of Chairpersons

Serve on the executive board as the primary liaison between committee chairs and PTO leadership. Support and mentor event chairs, facilitate communication and collaboration among committees, ensure chairs have necessary resources, and help troubleshoot challenges to maintain smooth operations across all PTO programs.

VP of Fundraising

Serve on the executive board to develop and oversee the PTO's fundraising strategy and initiatives. Plan and coordinate major fundraising events like Fall Fest and Fun Fair, explore new revenue opportunities, manage relationships with fundraising partners, and ensure the PTO meets its financial goals to support school programs and activities.

Allergy Liaison

Serve as the connection between families with food allergies and the school community to ensure safe and inclusive events. Communicate with event chairs about allergy-friendly options, provide guidance on labeling and food handling, and advocate for students with dietary restrictions to ensure all Hatch Tigers can participate safely in school activities.

Dining For Dollars

Coordinate restaurant fundraising throughout the year where local restaurants donate a percentage of sales back to the PTO. Build relationships with restaurant partners, schedule events, promote dining nights to families through multiple channels, and track proceeds to support PTO programs.

Green Team

Lead environmental education and sustainability initiatives for students during monthly lunch meetings. Coordinate activities such as clothing and shoe drives, Hatch Patch gardening support, and recyclable crafts to teach students about eco-friendly practices and community service.

Luminary Night

Organize and coordinate the annual "Light Up The Night" luminary event in December where Hatch families sponsor luminaries that line the school sidewalks. Manage sponsorships, logistics, setup, and collaboration with Oak Park's community-wide celebration, typically held the Saturday before Christmas.

Picture Day

Coordinate the school's annual picture day by liaising with the photography vendor, organizing student schedules, managing volunteer support, and ensuring smooth operations. Handle communications with families regarding photo packages, retakes, and distribution of completed photos.

Social Media

Manage Hatch PTO's social media presence by creating and posting engaging content about upcoming events, sharing photos and highlights from school activities, and building community engagement. Coordinate with other committee chairs to promote PTO programs and keep families informed through digital platforms.

Tiger Cash

Oversee the Tiger Cash program that allows families to purchase gift cards through RaiseRight which sends money directly to the HatchPTO for use in events such as Fall Fest and Field Day.

Turkey Trot

Plan and execute the annual Turkey Trot running event for 3rd-5th grade students held each November. Coordinate route planning, volunteer recruitment, safety measures, participant registration, and create a fun, energetic atmosphere that promotes health and wellness for Hatch students.

Wellness

Promote health and wellness initiatives throughout the school community by organizing activities, providing resources, and supporting programs that encourage physical activity, healthy eating, and overall student well-being. Collaborate with the school's wellness curriculum and coordinate related PTO events.
